Top 10 Biggest football stadiums in Europe

The FC Barcelona home ground is the biggest stadium in Europe, and the second highest in the world with a seating capacity of 99,354. The original name of the stadium was Estadi del FC Barcelona but was renamed to Camp Nou in 2000, after a voting referral of fans which favourited Camp Nou to the old name. Camp Nou in Catalan means ‘New Stadium’.

Opponents of FC Barcelona will agree that Nou Camp is an intimidating stadium. With the ear-deafening roars of ninety thousand Barcelona supporters, it is indeed difficult for the opponents.

The roof of the Camp Nou prevents the growth of grass in the pitch and therefore it is regularly changed. Camp Nou has hosted two Champions League finals and five matches of the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
